Almonte, Ontario is a picturesque farming community located 20 minutes West of Ottawa. We love to go there on weekends and holidays.
Halifax, Nova Scotia is a beautiful town full of history and modern attractions. You can enjoy whale watching, amphibious buses, the boardwalk, shopping, nearby Peggy’s Cove and of course, plenty of seafood!
We cannot seem to get enough of Turks and Caicos. It is perfect for us because it is relatively easy to get to, the beaches are beautiful, there is a dazzling selection of excellent restaurants and the people are very friendly. This trip was no different from any of our previous vacations. We ate at our favourite restaurants, lounged by (or floated on) the ocean and enjoyed sleeping in a king-size bed. Everything just seems “to work” in Turks and Caicos.
The purpose of our side-trip to Adelaide was to repay our friend Steve’s for his visit to Canada. Little did we know how much Adelaide has to offer. From hiking Mount Lofty, wine tasting in McLaren Vale or the time we spent walking along the endless beaches and coastline in and around Adelaide, Steve was a gracious host and we had a wonderful time. He even made us pizza in his wood-fired pizza oven.
We had such a great time in Sydney. It is a very walkable city with lush gardens on a background of skyscrapers. It is quite spread-out but luckily there is a great public transport system of buses, trains and an underground. Sydney is a city of bays so the ocean is all around you everywhere you go – it’s beautiful. There are plenty of great beaches and plenty to do. Some of the high points on our trip were the beaches at Bondi and Manly, an amazing day-trip to the Blue Mountains and Opal shopping in Sydney.
